Tradeplace appointed Karel van der Horst as new general manager

Tradeplace, the B2B eBusiness one-stop-shop for manufacturers and retailers, appointed Karel van der Horst as general manager and spokesman of the management team starting on February 1 2022.

Karel joins from the BSH Home Appliances Group, where he has worked since 2016 as Regional Digital Officer of the Region Europe. Before that he was heading the Global eCommerce, CRM & Sales processes department, and was director of the Digital Competence Center.

Since 2014, Karel is also member of the Advisory Board of Loadbee GmbH, the leading European Content-as-a-Service provider.

Prior to that, Karel was at Philips Electronics for over 13 years holding several positions ranging from IT, Purchasing, Marketing, Digital Marketing, leaving in 2006 as Director Direct to Consumer Sales. At Philips, Karel acquired a stake in Tradeplace B.V. Since 2002, Karel is (part-time) member of the management team.

He is an experienced digital entrepreneur with extensive know-how in ebusiness, digital marketing and sales. Karel has a deep understanding of the Domestic Appliances and Electronics manufacturer and retail markets and what kind of digital solutions and services can make a difference.
