Tradeplace B.V. Privacy Policy

Tradeplace B.V. (“Tradeplace”) respects and is dedicated to honouring the preferences of Registered Users concerning the collection, storage, access, and use of their personally identifiable data collected online. This Privacy Statement informs you in a clear and transparent way how we deal with Registered Users’ personal data.

It is our responsibility to guarantee Registered User’s privacy and to ensure that all personal information which Registered User gives us is dealt with in a confidential manner. Tradeplace complies with applicable data privacy laws. This implies that:

  • We will only process personal data that is compatible with the purpose for which the data is collected; the purposes and type of data are described in this Privacy Statement. We only process personal data if there is a legal basis for it.;
  • We will explicitly ask your permission where necessary to process your personal data;
  • We take the appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the safety of your personal data;
  • We will not disclose any personal data to other parties, unless this is necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected;
  • We are aware of your rights with respect to your personal data, we will inform you about them and we will respect them.

 

Types and reasons for data collection. Tradeplace requires users to provide Registered User information during the registration process.

The information about the Registered User is gathered for following main purposes:

  1. to establish the identity of the Registered User: for these purposes, business contact information such as name, address and e-mail is collected during the registration process.
  2. to effect posting of opportunities or related communications: these communications may concern the update and development of the Tradeplace services.
  3. to provide future services and goods: both contact information and information related to products and services offered by Tradeplace. This information is also used to provide Registered Users with product and service updates, change in usage policy and similar notices.

To better tailor marketing to Registered User needs: information on site use helps us to create services content and navigation that is most relevant and user friendly and enhances the overall user experience.

In addition, as part of our efforts to provide the ability to establish a connection with the portals of the sellers of products through the portal, Tradeplace may pass on to each seller information of those Registered Users who accessed such seller portal through Tradeplace's services, for security, connectivity and marketing purposes.

 

Access to information collected.  Registered Users that register themselves can access and modify their registration information at any time. The right of access includes, but is not limited to, the ability to update the user profile.

 

Preferences, Opt Out. Registration on the Tradeplace services is voluntary. Participation requires Registered Users to provide the information specified in the registration screens for reasons specified and as provided in the user registration agreement. This information is essential to properly complete registration process.

 

Collection of Information using Cookies. Tradeplace uses cookies to collect information on the usage of the services by users and to facilitate return visits by Registered Users. A "cookie" is a small piece of information sent by a web server to be stored on a web browser so it can later be read back from that browser. The information collected from cookies is currently used to improve the functionality of the services. The information on the services is organised and presented based on our analysis of the aggregate usage of the services. Cookies are also useful in allowing more streamlined log-in for Users, tracking of shopping cart additions and in preserving order information between sessions. Cookies play an integral part in assuring that information provided to Registered Users will reflect their preferences and be most relevant to their needs. Registered Users may disable the cookie feature on their browser. Cookies do, however, enable many convenience features of the services. Disabling cookies may require more complexity and data entry. Registered Users should also be aware that if they do disable cookies, information entered not resulting in a completed form/registration will be lost at the end of each session. Data retention period. Personal data that we process for any purpose shall not be kept for longer than is necessary to fulfil its collection purpose or to satisfy a legal or accounting purpose. In some cases, your data will be anonymised for research purposes and used indefinitely. If your data no longer meets any of the above criteria, personal data will be deleted or otherwise disposed of in a safe and secure manner.

 

Data security and breach response. We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unlawful processing, unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. Among other things, we have taken the following precautions;

  • Every person that is able to access your personal data is under a strict duty of care;
  • We protect our computer systems with User-IDs and passwords;
  • We pseudonymize and encrypt personal data if necessary;
  • We use a secured connection;
  • IP-addresses are registered and temporarily saved, but they cannot be traced back to you;
  • We make back-ups of the personal data to restore the files in case of physical or technical problems;
  • We test and evaluate our measures regularly;
  • Our employees are aware of the importance of privacy protection.

Should there be a potential breach of personal data, we have procedures in place to respond. The breach will be identified, the scope will be determined, and we will make reports and/or notification if we are legally required to do so.

 

Security. Tradeplace is concerned with the security of the personal data that are collected and has put in place measures to prevent unauthorised access to that information. We have concluded Data Processor Agreements for data we transfer. If data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses)

 

Registered Users’ rights to privacy. Registered Users’ rights under data protection laws include the right to access, erase, correct, restrict, and/or object to our use and processing of your personal data, as well as the right to portability of the data. You have the right to confirmation as to how and where we process your data. To the extent that the legal basis for our processing is consent, you have the right to withdraw at any time. We may ask you to identify yourself before we can meet the above requests. You can exercise these rights by contacting us. If you believe your personal data has been misused, you may contact us directly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA)

 

Visitors and Non-Registered Users In addition to our Registered Users, we also could process personal data of individuals who visit our website without creating an account. This may include people who:

  • browse our website,
  • request information or contact us,
  • apply for a job vacancy, or
  • consider becoming a Registered User.

For these non-registered users, we may collect limited personal data such as your IP address, browser information, or details you provide in forms (e.g., salutation, first name, last name, company name, email, phone number, connecting service and interest service, and subject/question (the latter could also include data)). We process this data based on your consent and only for the following purposes:

  1. to respond to your questions or requests,
  2. to provide access to our website and improve its functionality,
  3. to handle job applications, and
  4. to support you if you choose to register later.

This policy applies equally to visitors and non-registered users.

 

Seller’s Privacy Responsibilities. Tradeplace is not responsible for the actions of the sellers and does not guarantee the privacy of data provided by or on behalf of a Registered User to a seller.

As a courtesy to users we provide translated versions of this document. In the event of a discrepancy between this original English version and a translated version, this English version shall always take precedence.
