SUPPLIER - Specialised dataformat launch at the 2019 IFA in Berlin, 6-11 September

IDM format now supported on Tradeplace’s PIMS

Integriertes Datenmodell is what IDM stands for. This specialised data exchange format is commonly used in the built-in kitchen appliance industry. IDM is now also supported on Tradeplace’s Product Information Management System (PIMS) for electronic household appliances from manufacturers such as BSH, Electrolux and Whirlpool.

At this year’s IFA, the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, Tradeplace will launch the IDM format on its PIMS platform.

Interesting for software vendors, too

All major software vendors such as kitchen planning software and ERP systems that operate in the built-in kitchen appliance sector have implemented an IDM interface to import product data. Now that IDM is part of PIMS, Tradeplace can offer more accurate product information to trading partners and kitchen planning software vendors active in this sector.

Disadvantages eliminated

Previously, time gaps had existed between the start of new product sales and the availability of the product data in IDM format.
Consequentially, the process to define what product data should be provided to whom causes additional effort between data servic

Better solution on hand

In order to find a better solution Tradeplace decided to provide the IDM data format natively on PIMS. This means data-mappings are defined on Tradeplace’s PIMS and can be maintained in one central place for all of Europe.

An added advantage is as soon as new products are available on PIMS, the product data can be provided in IDM format as well.

Product information highest quality from manufacturers

Industry – wide product information from manufacturers is considered to be the most accurate and up-to-date. The manufacturers themselves are responsible for the quality of product data and can control this process. So a process that was originally in good hands, stays in good hands.

Benefits for retailers

On PIMS, kitchen retailers continue to receive the best product information directly from the manufacturers. But thanks to the Tradepartner/Product-Assortment relations on PIMS, it is now possible that kitchen retailers only receive the exact products that are relevant for them.

Tradeplace also works together with major kitchen planning software vendors and is open for new connections to expand services. If you would like to know more about the supported IDM format or Tradeplace PIMS in general, please contact us, we would be more than happy to meet you at the IFA!
